Introduction:
This document outlines the steps required to apply a percentage subscription discount to quantity variants of a single SKU product. By following these steps, you will be able to create different subscription programs to add the delta between the volume discount and subscription price, and ensure that only one subscription option appears on the Product Display Page (PDP).
Prerequisites:
- Knowledge of how to create subscription programs
- Access to Looker, Postico, or a SQL Client connected to Smartrr’s server
- SKU name
Steps:
- Identify the quantity variants of the single SKU product that provide discounts for higher volumes.
- Create a new subscription program or edit an existing one to add the delta between the volume discount and subscription price. For example, if the volume discount for a variant is 30%, you would set the subscription discount to 50% (30% volume discount + 20% subscription discount).
- Add all of the quantity variants to the subscription program created in step 2. This will ensure that all variants have a 20% subscription discount.
- Test the subscription program on the PDP to ensure that only one subscription option appears, and that the discount applied is correct.
- If multiple subscription options still appear on the PDP, check to make sure that all variants have been added to the same subscription program, and that there are no conflicting subscription programs.
- Once you have verified that the subscription discount is being applied correctly, make the subscription program live for all customers to take advantage of.
Conclusion:
By following these steps, you should be able to apply a % subscription discount to quantity variants of a single SKU product and ensure that only one subscription option appears on the PDP. This will make it easier for customers to understand their subscription options and take advantage of the discounts offered.
